Liberty recruiting human rights advice line volunteers

Liberty, the human rights advocacy organisation, is currently recruiting for trainees, pupils, solicitors and barristers to volunteer on its evening Advice Line.

The Advice Line runs on Mondays and Thursday 6:30pm – 8:30pm and gives advice to members of the public on human rights and civil liberties (members of the public can call on 0845 123 2307 or 020 3145 0461).

For further information contact Laura Milne (LauraM@liberty-human-rights.org.uk). I volunteered at the Advice Line for a year during my pupillage (training) and it was a great experience. It is a perfect way to learn more about human rights law, meet lawyers of all levels of seniority and help people with interesting problems for whom Liberty is usually the last resort. You will also get to see Liberty’s flash new offices!

  1. Liberty? LIBERTY? LIBERTY!!! The people of that organisation are false flag puppets of the ruthless, lawless, murderous & merciless Orwellian Police State which is Britain today! You want proof? I’ve got it!

  2. Where have Liberty been while a World War II veteran has been suffering 14 years of persecution? Ever since 1997, when he stood for Parliament, & published a book about crooked judges. The persecution became serious with assassination attempts in 1999 & 2000, the latest being incarceration Armley Gaol ‘Hell Hole’ at the age of 85. Ourtrage has been expressed from all over the world – Incuding Russian TV – but NOT A SINGLE WORD from ‘Liberty! My comment is ‘Awaitng Moderation’. Ha, Ha, Ha! Who IS the ‘moderator? My email address is enscarth@hotmail.com

  3. Flash new offices ???? I emailed the Liberty Director Shami Chakrabarti about 86 yr old war hero Norman Scarfe and they said they didn’t have the resources to write the letter I asked them to do on Liberty headed paper so that the Prison Authorities knew important people were watching. A 3 min job and a stamp! They turned their backs on one of the men who gave them the freedom to exist. Screw them they lost my support and respect that day.
